Is longer harder?

There are exceptions of course, but in general, TV shows are merely stories whose writers were too lazy to make them into movies.

One of the challenges of movie making is communicating every important detail in two short hours. But if you don’t want to go through that nail-biting, sleep-depriving, hair-graying hell of a process, you can just bloat your movie to about fifty times its length. Of course there are challenges particular to penning TV shows, but it is still an easy way to bypass most of the discomfort of writing a story for the screen.
