Jesus refers to Himself as the temple (“Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.”). In Jesus time, however, the temple had become a “den of thieves,” and God’s presence was no longer there. It is what we see in Ezekiel when the glory of the Lord packs up and leaves Israel. But at the end of Ezekiel, the temple once again becomes filled with the Spirit of God, so much so that it flows out to revive the land. Jesus is the new temple is Israel and out of Him flows an immeasureable river of living water for the healing of the nations.
